Each therapeutic massage session in our Longmont offices is contoured for each client. In a session, I may use several different massage modalities depending on what my client hopes to achieve. Shown below are a few massage modalities that we incorporate.
Swedish massage is a great choice if you just wish to lay back, relax and enjoy a wonderful massage. Swedish massage incorporates gliding, kneading, rubbing, pressing, and tapping to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. It is generally performed with the client unclothed and modestly draped on a massage table with lotions or oils. Swedish massage is the most widely used modality and is often incorporated into other techniques and procedures.
This technique includes the use of plastic domes, or cups, from which the air is removed while resting on the skin. The negative air pressure that results pulls the skin up into the cup, allowing adhesions to loosen. In addition, blood flow is increased, and toxins are quickly removed by this increased blood flow.
INJURY REHABILITATION MASSAGE
If you have a specific injury that needs attention such as a rotator cuff tear or a knee surgery, Injury massage is a great choice for you. Also if you suffer from chronic pain in a particular area, injury massage can increase blood flow and mobility and decrease swelling. Injury massage is effective in treating conditions in the recovery or chronic stages but is not advised during the acute phase of an injury without your doctor’s recommendation. The goal of Injury Massage is to help the client become pain-free.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE (MFR)
If you have a tight spot in your back that just will not go away or suffer from chronic pain or weakness, this is the treatment for you. Does the knot in your back seem to radiate pain down your arm? Trigger point therapy will help break up that tissue and encourage the body to heal. A trigger point is a firm, palpable, highly irritable spot found in a tight band of muscle fibers that are generally characterized by extreme tenderness. Trigger points are worked by applying direct pressure, deep gliding pressure, and stretching the affected area.
This is the best foot massage you will ever have, as it not only feels good but is good for your whole body. It is performed on your foot. It can be easily incorporated along with a full body massage or concentrated on the foot. Reflexology is one of the least invasive modality out there. The client is fully clothed. Reflexology is a science based on the premise that there are zones and reflex areas in the feet which correspond to all glands, organs, parts, and systems of the body. The physical act of applying pressure using thumb, finger and hand techniques are used to these reflex areas results in the reduction of stress which promotes physiological changes in the body.

Sports maintenance massage focusing on muscles & muscle groups used in a given sport and trouble areas. I can help athletes maintain or improve range of motion and muscle flexibility. The overall objective is to help the athlete reach optimal performance through injury-free training.
LOMI LOMI MASSAGE
Lomi Lomi Massage is a Traditional Style Massage that originated in Hawaii. This type of massage is a very fluid massage style. Applying oils and concentrating on different body parts at the same time. By using my forearms, hands, and fingers to manipulate tissue by gliding over the large areas of the body. It is very relaxing and calming to your system.
